Our History
Concrete Supply Co., LLC (“CSC”) as we know it today was formed in 1958 through the merger of three ready mix companies with a total of four plants, all located in Charlotte, NC. From the humble start, CSC now operates over 90 production facilities throughout both North and South Carolina.
Over the years CSC has purchased or formed several operating companies which include: Central Carolina Concrete (CCC) in the greater Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Burlington and Mebane area of North Carolina. Tri-City Concrete in Forest City, NC and Landrum, SC just located in the foothills of the Mountains South of Asheville and American Concrete and Precast (ACP) located in the Anderson, Piedmont and Greenville area of the Upstate of South Carolina. These operations alongside of our Concrete Supply Co. – branded operations create our end-to-end ready mix concrete solution for every Carolina’s business partner!
We also have two joint venture businesses in Concrete Materials Placement (CMP) which operates 30 concrete pumps and telebelts throughout North and South Carolina. CMP has equipment and experience with placing booms and stationary pump equipment for the most challenging commercial projects. Reynolds Trucking Co (RTC), a bulk hauling transport company, also operates over 100 tractor trailer combinations offering hauling services including bulk cement, fly ash, fine aggregates, coarse aggregates and flatbed units.
Today our family of businesses employs over 900 people, produce nearly 3 million cubic yards of concrete annually and supply the expertise and materials for everything from the most complex commercial projects to the backyard patio! Notable projects that we have supplied the concrete on include the McGuire Nuclear Station, the Carolina Panthers football stadium, the bank of America Corporate Center, the Duke Energy building, the Continental Tire Manufacturing Tire plant in Sumter SC, the Bridgestone Tire Plant in Aiken SC, numerous distribution facilities for Amazon, Wal-Mart, Harris Teeter and Data Warehouse facilities for Facebook, Google and Apple and several Department of Transportation projects including bridges, concrete paving and other infrastructure to support the growth of the Carolinas.
Yet size and high profile projects have never been the true measures of the strength of our Company. Instead, we place much more importance on the fact that on three occasions the Associated General Contractors (AGC) organization has named CSC the “Best Supplier / Service Company” in the Carolinas, that the United Way has selected us to serve as a Pacesetter Company for their annual United Way Campaigns year after year, that two Presidents of our Company have been elected to serve as Chairperson of the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association and President of the Carolina’s Ready Mixed Concrete Association, that CSC has been recognized over and over for achievements in Quality performance in concrete, and that CSC has been nominated twice in recent years for the Ethics in Business Award.
